We strive to make opportunities for lives to be made new and molded in the image of Christ through worship, fellowship, service, stewardship, witness and study. We intend for our lives to be transformed as well as those we touch in the world.

Who We Are
Christ United Methodist Church is a vibrant congregation in Philadelphia’s far northern exurbs. Located in an area of Montgomery County originally settled by Anabaptists, the Wesleyan understanding of grace and free will makes an impressive impact and has done so since 1875. As such, the community is a unique mix of cosmopolitan attitudes and traditional values. Several institutions of higher learning and major pharmaceutical enterprises fill the nearby municipalities.

The community is a great place in which to raise children, a fact reflected in the church’s demographic of persons under 25 comprising one-third of weekly worshipers -- a rarity for the graying mainline denominations, like United Methodism. In addition to the growing number of young persons, there is a substantial number of active seniors, contributing to a well-rounded parish.

The worship style at services on Sunday morning is traditional, with a monthly Sunday evening service best described as contemporary prayer and praise. Worship at Christ Church is witnessing an increase in numbers of services and attendance.

Highlights of the congregation are a wide-ranging music ministry comprised of 13 musical groups, including a signing choir. Extensive mission outreaches to the world and community comprise over 25% of the annual budget and consume the human capital of disciples, too. The church welcomes homeless families each June and is working to rebuild an urban church building that was condemned and demolished. Building use throughout the week is filled with more persons from the community than members of the congregation. Christian education is also a hallmark, not only offering ministries for children and youth, but also featuring several dynamic adult classes and groups meeting on Sunday and throughout the week.
