Missions

Christ UMC is very active in missions.  We support various missions both in service and financially.  We try to offer a variety of missions for service and financial support.  As a church we strive to give back approximately twenty percent to supporting other organizations.  We also offer a Mission of the Month program in which our missions committee selects a mission for the month and you can donate through the church offering plate or online giving to support that month's mission.  

Service

We have several ongoing service opportunities.  There are more detailed descriptions for some of these items on our Get Involved pages if you'd like to know more.  


Service Projects

  • Cooking for Manna - Once a month a cooking team gets together and makes meals for our local soup kitchen/food pantry
  • Spring Cleanup Day - Every year in April a crew comes out to clean up around the outside of our building and do some mulching etc. Watch for date announcements

  • Code Blue - Located in Lansdale, PA, the shelter provides a warm and safe place for homeless men to find refuge when the wind chill drops below 20 degrees.  Although we do not host it at our facility, we do have many church members who are actively involved in the project.

  • The Mustard Seed -  Founded in 2014, our church vegetable garden is located on the grass at the end of the CUMC parking lot. Vegetables are donated to Manna, helping people from our area to get healthy food to feed their families. In 2023 we picked and delivered an amazing 963 pounds of vegetables!

    This mission needs many volunteers to help with the good work of planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting at "the Mustard Seed".

Mission Trips

  • Youth Mission Trips - Every summer our youth go on a week long mission trip
  • Adult Mission Trips - At various times our adults will join with other churches or organizations and go on a mission trip.  Watch for announcement. 

Collections

  • Non-Perishable Food for Manna -  A shelf is located to the right of the narthex for you to put non-perishable food donations to be taken to Manna on Main
  • Box Tops for Education - We collect these in the lobby to be sent to Red Bird
  • Giving Tree  - At Christmas we have a giving tree, you may take a tag and return the requested gift
